How did this patient hear about The Riverside? Her Social Worker at Mt. Sinai Hospital
Resident arrived in somber spirits. A young, sweet woman of 33 years old- this was not an ideal situation for her. An active mother of 3 and wife, this resident was going through a tough time in her medical condition at the time. A painful surgical ordeal in which a stay at a rehabilitation facility for therapy was a must. So with some research and information from her Social Worker at Mt. Sinai, our resident chose us.
Right off the start things improved. She was welcomed and greeted by our Concierge director and given a run down on our facility and how things run at The Riverside. As he left he noted the positive hopeful smiles of her and her family, along with a Riverside welcome gift in each of their hands. Knowledge is power. They arrived all together scared and confused- and after getting a nice welcome, warm smile and information about The Riverside, they felt much more at home.
Next trooped in the nursing staff. Vitals were taken; the nurses and CNA’s introduced themselves along with the nurse manager. It was a very welcoming and warm start to her stay.
Within the first 24 hours of her arrival she had met each and everyone of our interdisciplinary team. She was told all about our recreational therapeutic programs and stated she that on her leisure time she enjoys reading books and newspapers (NY Times), listening to music etc. All things we offer here at The Riverside.
However, while speaking to her about how her stay was, the team that stood out to her the most was our Therapy staff. Her OT and PT were outstanding. They guided her, and helped her through her rehabilitation process with care, professionalism and concern. She named them personally and to quote her: “I can’t compliment them enough. They were amazing”.
Another job well done by our team!
