How did this patient hear about the Riverside? Social Worker, Bellevue Hospital

In early November, Mr. Myatt, a writer and artist, was on his way to pick up materials for his next art project. While walking down a series of steps, Mr. Myatt reached for the banister, which had become dislodged. Mr. Myatt missed his step…slipping and fracturing his neck. Mr. Myatt, who served tours in Iraq, shared, “I’ve fallen down mountains and never injured myself as badly as I did performing such a minimal task.”

The fall left Mr. Myatt with limited dexterity in his right hand, and partial use of his right arm. Mr. Myatt was admitted to The Riverside Rehabilitation and Healing Center from Bellevue hospital on November 27th, 2020. While in the hospital, Mr. Myatt was able to stand and walk with 1×1 physical assistance.

Since participating in physical therapy at the Riverside, Mr. Myatt is able to stand and walk with supervision and has almost regained full dexterity in his right hand.
