How did this patient hear about the Riverside? Social Worker at Mt. Sinai

Resident was with us for Therapy to regain her muscle strength in the beginning on April. After going back to the hospital for some closer monitoring, she chose to return to The Riverside to complete her Therapy. She is a sweet, well mannered woman who has a loving family and whose goal was for safe discharge back to the community and family she holds so dear. In order for that to be a possibility, intense Occupational and Physical Therapy was required.

As is the case with certain cases, this resident has severe abdominal pain, which hindered activity. It was a constant battle to even stand up without assistance. However, our team was on top of the situation. The nursing department monitored her pain levels very closely, and worked hand in hand with her therapists to ensure comfortable and productive therapy sessions.

Little by little she regained her strength and muscle use. In 2 weeks time she made tremendous progress. Thanks to the incredible work of our medical team alongside her nursing care, her pain resided, allowing the therapy to get more intense and detailed catering her specific needs. After a month time, the resident was safely discharged back home.

She and her family and very thankful for the work we did. Great job, team!
