Details of Experience:

Miss. Thomas was admitted to Lennox Hill hospital in seek of treatment for chronic back pain. She had been experiencing lower back pain for an extended period of three months where ultimately she sought out clinical consultation for relief. Upon her clinical visit, it was revealed that Miss. Thomas had sustained a fracture to the thoracic spine, which was the principle cause of the lower back pain she had been experiencing. Miss. Thomas was then admitted as an inpatient for pain management where she would spend a short stint prior to discharging home.

Unfortunately, it was determined that Miss. Thomas’ potential discharge home would not be safe as her daughter currently lives out of state. After the social work team provided her with multiple options for short term rehabilitation and skilled nursing care, Miss. Thomas recalled hearing many amazing compliments about The Riverside Premier Rehabilitation and Healing Center from friends and neighbors. She shared that everyone spoke very highly of the care and therapy that is provided to all the residents and patients and she could not see herself going anywhere else.

On November 14, 2016 Miss Thomas was transferred to The Riverside and her journey of Renewal™ began immediately. Miss Thomas shared that as soon as she arrived she took a liking to the staff because they were extremely helpful, but not intrusive, which she said, “is a very delicate balance.” Miss. Thomas detailed that she used to work in a military hospital and used to connect with all patients.

She was especially appreciative of the method of care provided in which the interdisciplinary team was eloquent in their ability to appropriately provide great care without being overbearing or intrusive. Miss Thomas attributes her successful recovery to the amazing team at The Riverside, from the nursing staff to the rehabilitation therapists who worked alongside her throughout her stay.

Miss Thomas is now back home feeling renewed and back to her regular self. The Riverside team would like to wish only good health and all the best to Miss. Thomas and her family.
