Martine Deelesca, RN BSN

Martine is Riverside’s 6th Floor Unit Manager. She believes that different little things make her job worthwhile. Among the things she likes to include are a great work environment and the opportunity to work alongside a multifaceted team who always encourages and motivates her to bring out the best of herself. Also, she enjoys the personal connections that she can make with patients. She can empower the patient and their families through small talk, which often leads to better health outcomes. Also, she enjoys her work because she can make a difference. Although nursing is highly stressful and challenging, she often finds satisfaction in knowing that she helped patients feel much better during their most unexpected and vulnerable moments. Martine has been working in healthcare for the last 12 years. From a young age, she always knew that she would love to work in healthcare, especially as a nurse. Her favorite aunt was a nurse, and she inspired her to become a nurse. Seeing her helping others made her realize that nursing was a noble profession. Also, she was led to this path, considering that nursing is among the best ways to give back to society through serving others. She loves spending time with her child during her spare time. Also enjoys dancing, collecting artifacts, traveling, and meeting new people. During the long weekends, she enjoys volunteering in the local homeless shelter, where she educates individuals regarding maintaining healthy practices and informs ways to reduce access barriers to health. She is married to a sweetheart, and they are blessed with a son.
