Allison Bellin
Director of Social Work
Allison joined The Riverside in February of 2021. Allison is a graduate of Yeshiva University, Wurzweiler School of Social Work, and has been a Social Worker for over 26 years. Allison’s early career began in the field of mental health. She found her passion, while she was working as a psychotherapist in various nursing facilities, where she realized that long-term care was where she felt most comfortable. Twenty-Three years later she is happy to have made the choice. Addressing the emotional needs of the elderly and their families is a focal point for the Social Work Department. There are so many overwhelming emotions when placing a loved one in a nursing facility, as well as when one enters as a resident. The Riverside’s team of social workers has the knowledge and experience in dealing with these concerns and does their best to ensure that everyone’s adjustment is a smooth one. The residents that have come to The Riverside, may have chosen the facility as their new home or may have come for a short-term stay. No matter the reason, we want to ensure that all residents are comfortable in their environment, are having their needs met, and are treated with the highest level of dignity and respect.
